Our Programs
Our Ottawa-area Mobility Exchange supports local mobility, alongside equipment recovery, refurbishment, and healthcare training partnerships in West Africa and the Caribbean.
Medical Equipment Recovery
We are building partnerships with healthcare institutions to understand their equipment surplus and develop sustainable collection strategies. We aim to recover usable medical equipment that would otherwise be discarded.

Impact
By recovering equipment that would otherwise be discarded, we aim to divert valuable medical resources from landfill and put them to work where they are needed most.

Refurbishment & Testing
Qualified biomedical technicians inspect, test, and restore each device to safe working condition before it ships.

Quality Assurance
Each device is inspected and tested before it ships. Devices that cannot be made safe are not shipped.

Training & Capacity Building
Equipment alone isn't enough. Through VitalBridge, clinicians and technicians learn to operate and maintain equipment safely.

Long-Term Impact
VitalBridge runs in phases around each shipment: before delivery, remote orientation for the receiving hospital on the incoming equipment and what is needed to receive it, including power, space, and staff availability; and on site, hands-on training for clinicians and technicians led by a MedLegacy trainer.
What we will report: healthcare workers trained, training sessions delivered, and completion rates.
