A Canadian Registered Charity in Global Health
Restoring hope through sustainable healthcare.
MedLegacy Global Health refurbishes and redistributes life-saving medical equipment and consumables to underserved communities around the world — and trains the clinicians who use them.
If access to health care is considered a human right, who is considered human enough to have that right?
— The question that founded MedLegacy
— Why it matters
The world has the equipment.
It just isn’t where it’s needed.
Millions lack access to equipment and supplies
Over half of medical devices in low- and middle-income countries are non-functional, and basic consumables are routinely out of stock. Clinicians improvise. Patients pay the price.
Hospitals discard usable equipment and unopened supplies every day
In Canada, perfectly serviceable monitors, ventilators, surgical tools, and unopened consumables are retired due to warranty or stock-rotation cycles — not failure.
MedLegacy bridges that gap
We refurbish the discarded, ship it to vetted partners, and train local clinicians — turning waste into working healthcare.
Three programs · One pipeline
A closed-loop model from decommission to delivery.
Refurbishment & supplies
We restore donated diagnostic & critical-care equipment to clinical standard, and collect unopened medical consumables (sutures, gauze, gloves, IV sets, masks) for redistribution.
Global donation
Equipment and consumables are matched and shipped to vetted partner hospitals across our twelve country programs.
On-site training
Biomedical technicians and clinicians trained on installed equipment for self-sufficiency.
— Twelve country programs
Where the equipment & supplies begin their second life.
Each program is built on partnerships with regional ministries of health and vetted hospital networks, with annual return visits and outcomes tracking.
